Migration of Religious Non-conformists to the U.S.: Amish, Mennonite, Quaker and MoravianWhen: July 26, 2025 10:00AM - 12:00 PM Speaker: Mary Lynn Wilson Location: via Zoom This session will review the religious beliefs of Quakers, Moravians, Mennonites, and Amish and migrations of each group including why they were persecuted in Europe; when, where and how each group migrated to the American Colonies; and how each group assimilated. The session will also include the sources available for genealogists to find their non-conformist ancestors. Dr. Mary Lynn Wilson Mary Lynn has been working on genealogy since 1980. She has completed the Boston University course on Genealogical Principles and is currently enrolled in the National Genealogical Society’s Advanced Skills in Genealogy course. She has a PhD in Indo-European Studies and taught history at San Jose State University for over 20 years.
