SMCGS has gone green!!

SMCGS has switched to a digital newsletter for all members having an email address (started in June 2010). Members without email addresses will still be able to receive a paper copy of the newsletter for the yearly fee of $9.00 (to cover the cost of paper, copying and first class postage for 6 newsletters and 4 reminder mailers). Those who wish to sign up and pay for the paper newsletter can mail in this form or drop it off at a general meeting.

Your SMCGS Board made this decision after much discussion, thought and evaluation. It will save SMCGS money and also help the environment by using less paper. Receiving your newsletter digitally will enable you to print all or part of your SMCGS newsletter and in color too! You can take your time reading it online – coming back to it as often as you want. The ease of it sounds pretty appealing – your SMCGS Board hopes you will agree.

If we don't have your current e-mail address, please contact the Membership Chairperson immediately so you will be certain to get your newsletter. Please contact the Newspaper Editor if you have any questions.

The San Mateo County Genealogical Society (SMCGS) produces a newsletter every other month (except for the months of August and December). The newsletter keeps the members up-to-date on all the events occurring at SMCGS, as well as offering information regarding other events, both state-wide and nationally. Columns each month include news about the library, additions to its books and CD collection, as well as columns about personal searches, interesting family information and new web sites and publications to aid in genealogy research.

The SMCGS Newsletter accepts advertising at the rate of $10.00 for a business card sized advertisement for one issue. Special rates are available for multiple issues.
