The Library boasts a large CD Collection with over 885 Titles.

We have a publication, "SMCGS CD Collection Catalog," describing all of the CDs in our collection. The index to the catalog is 40 pages and the detailed description of the individual CDs is 254 pages. A copy of the catalog is always located on the top of one of the CDs cabinets. It is also offered for sale for your use at home.


The CD Club

In order to take one the CDs or tapes home to use, a member must join the CD Club. The following procedure must be followed to check out CDs:
  • You must be a member of the San Mateo County Genealogical Society
  • When you join the SMCGS CD Club with a $30.00 deposit, you will be entitled to check out one CD or tape to use at home for up to 30 days. You may make a multiple deposit ($60.00, $90.00, etc.), which entitles you to check out more than one item. The deposit can be designated as a donation or it will be returned to you when you no longer wish to have checkout privileges.
  • When you become a member, have a Library Volunteer fill out a card to be filed in the CD club membership box.
  • CDs or tapes can only be checked out for 30 days.
