The Berryessa Family: A California Legacy - Anthony Ray

The Berryessa family from the de Anza expedition to the twentieth century will be reviewed including military, ranchos, religious and social involvements, family murders in the 1850s, and settling into the American culture by the nineteenth century. Records to be discussed include manuscript collections, church records, newspapers, vital records, and others.

DNA Interest Group

The DNA interest group meets regularly on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 2:15 to 3.45 pm in the Cañada College Library.

In January 2017 this group started working through the book Genetic Genealogy in Practice by Blaine Bettinger and Debbie Parker Wayne.  More information about the book can be found on the National Genealogical Society's website.

Irish Interest Group

Our latest group is an Irish interest group to meet immediately after the British group on the 4th Tuesday of the month.  Meetings are at 11am in the 1st floor meeting room at Redwood City Main Library*. There is no charge for the group, but you must be a member of SMCGS.  Come and bring your knowledge and questions to share with other researchers. For more information contact news@smcgs.org

German Interest Group

The German Special Interest Group meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 9:30am at the FHC at the LDS Church in Menlo Park.
There is no charge for the group, but you must be a member of SMCGS.  Please come and bring your knowledge and questions to share with other researchers.
